About Tour Package

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in the world, leading devotees to the holy Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. This spiritual journey holds great significance in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and the Bon religion. According to Hindu belief, Mount Kailash is the divine abode of Lord Shiva, while the sacred Lake Mansarovar is believed to possess powerful spiritual and purifying qualities.

The pilgrimage season usually takes place between May and September, when weather conditions allow travel through the high-altitude Himalayan region. Due to the remote terrain and international borders, special travel permits and permissions are required for the journey.

    Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by Helicopter

Upon arrival at Lucknow Airport or Railway Station, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to Nepalgunj in western Nepal.

The drive covers approximately 180 km and takes around 5 hours. After reaching Nepalgunj, check in to your hotel and relax after the journey.

The flight takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour, offering beautiful aerial views of Nepal’s remote Himalayan landscapes. Simikot, located at 2,910 meters, serves as an important point for altitude acclimatization. The airport here is a STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) airstrip, which accommodates small aircraft such as Twin Otter or Dornier, carrying about 15 passengers.

From Simikot, board a helicopter flight to Hilsa, which takes approximately 25 minutes. The helicopter journey passes through dramatic Himalayan gorges and valleys. We generally operate Eurocopter B3 helicopters, carrying 5 passengers with a baggage allowance of 10 kg per person.

Today is reserved for rest and acclimatization in Taklakot.

This rest day is essential to help your body adjust to the high altitude before continuing the journey toward Lake Mansarovar and the Kailash Parikrama.

Pilgrims may explore the local Tibetan market or rest at the hotel.

After breakfast, drive from Taklakot to the sacred Lake Mansarovar.

This journey offers magnificent views of the Tibetan plateau and the first glimpses of Mount Kailash. Upon arrival, pilgrims may perform ritual bathing, prayers, and meditation at the holy lake.

Lake Mansarovar is considered one of the most sacred lakes in the world and is believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual purification

Today marks the beginning of the holy Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation).

After breakfast, drive from Lake Mansarovar to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash, where travel permits are checked.

From Darchen, continue driving to Yama Dwar (Tarboche), the official starting point of the Parikrama.

Begin the trek to Dirapuk, which takes about 5–6 hours. The trail is relatively gradual but requires steady walking due to the high altitude.

Along the route, pilgrims will enjoy spectacular views of the north face of Mount Kailash.

After reaching the summit, descend toward Zuthulpuk, passing the sacred Gauri Kund, a small glacial lake associated with Hindu mythology.

The descent can be steep and requires caution.

Frequently Asked & Question

The helicopter route is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to visit Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. In this journey, travelers fly from Nepalgunj to Simikot and then take a helicopter to Hilsa near the Tibet border before continuing by road to the Kailash region.

Most helicopter tour packages take 10 to 14 days depending on the itinerary and weather conditions. This route is shorter compared to traditional overland routes which may take two weeks or more.

No. Helicopters operate only within Nepal, mainly between Simikot and Hilsa. After crossing into Tibet, travel continues by road to locations such as Taklakot, Lake Mansarovar, and Darchen

Some walking is still required for the Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation). However, the helicopter route reduces the overall travel distance and physical effort compared to traditional trekking routes.
