Kerung is a small town surrounded by impressive mountain landscapes and serves as the first stop inside Tibet for travelers heading to Mount Kailash.

Continue your journey deeper into Tibet with a drive toward Saga. The route passes through wide open valleys, high mountain passes, and remote Tibetan landscapes.
Along the way, travelers can enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayan range and vast plateaus that define the Tibetan region.
Today’s drive takes you to the sacred Lake Mansarovar, one of the holiest pilgrimage destinations in Asia. The journey passes through dramatic landscapes and high-altitude terrain before reaching the lake.
Upon arrival, pilgrims can perform religious rituals, meditation, and take a sacred bath in the lake’s crystal-clear waters, which are believed to purify the soul.
The Kailash Parikrama begins today. After breakfast, start trekking from Darchen toward Dirapuk Monastery, which lies at the base of Mount Kailash’s northern face.
This section of the trek is relatively gradual and offers magnificent views of the sacred mountain, making it one of the most memorable parts of the pilgrimage
Today is the most challenging day of the trek as pilgrims cross Dolma La Pass, the highest point of the Kailash Parikrama. The trail climbs steadily before reaching the pass and then descends toward the valley.
Along the route, you will pass Gauri Kund, a sacred lake associated with Hindu mythology. The trek eventually leads to Zuthulpuk Monastery.
After breakfast, complete the final section of the Kailash Parikrama by trekking back to the point where vehicles are waiting.
Once the trek is finished, continue by road to Saga while enjoying the scenic Tibetan plateau.
Begin the return journey today as you travel from Saga back toward Kerung. The drive once again passes through stunning Tibetan landscapes and high-altitude plains.
This route provides another opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the region.
After breakfast, drive to the border and complete the exit formalities from Tibet. Once the immigration process is finished, continue the journey back to Kathmandu.
