The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a highly esteemed pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in Tibet, which holds great significance in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and the Bon religion. Mount Kailash is regarded as the sacred residence of Lord Shiva, while Mansarovar Lake is thought to possess purifying qualities. The Yatra (tour), occurring from May to September, necessitates special permits due to the challenging high-altitude environment. The parikrama (circumambulation) around Mount Kailash is particularly important, as it is believed to absolve karmic debts and draw devotees nearer to moksha (Salvation), thereby breaking the cycle of birth and death.
