The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage that takes travelers to the holy Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. The route from Lhasa to Kerung allows pilgrims to experience both the cultural beauty of Tibet and the spiritual atmosphere of the Kailash region. Travelers first explore the historic city of Lhasa and its famous monasteries before continuing across the vast Tibetan plateau toward Mount Kailash. The journey also includes the sacred Kailash Parikrama, a ritual circumambulation around the holy mountain believed to cleanse past karma and lead devotees closer to spiritual liberation.

Your journey begins upon arrival in Kathmandu. At the airport, our tour manager will welcome you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, passports of all NRI pilgrims will be collected for the necessary travel documentation and permit processing.
After breakfast, begin the day with visits to some of Kathmandu’s most important religious sites. The tour starts at Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. From there, continue to Gruheswari Devi Temple, an important Shaktipeeth, followed by Budhanilkantha Temple, famous for the large reclining statue of Lord Vishnu.
Afternoon Program:
Return to the hotel for lunch and some rest. Later in the evening, visit Pashupatinath Temple again to witness the traditional evening Aarti ceremony, followed by the sacred rituals along the Bagmati River. After the ceremony, return to the hotel for dinner.
Today’s excursion focuses on the historical and spiritual heritage of the Kathmandu Valley. Start the day with darshan at Doleswar Mahadev Temple, which is believed to be associated with Kedarnath. Next, visit Chang Narayan Temple, one of the oldest temples in Nepal. The tour then continues to the UNESCO heritage site Bhaktapur Durbar Square, known for its ancient architecture and traditional culture.
Lunch:
Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant at your own expense.
Afternoon Activities:
Continue the sightseeing program with a visit to Patan, where you will explore Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. In the evening, a detailed briefing will be held about the upcoming Kailash Mansarovar journey.
Today is reserved for leisure and preparation. Pilgrims can explore Kathmandu’s markets, purchase travel essentials, or enjoy the local atmosphere.
In the evening, the tour leader will conduct a detailed briefing session, explaining the itinerary, travel rules, and important instructions for the pilgrimage.
After breakfast, transfer to the international airport for your scheduled flight to Lhasa, the spiritual and cultural heart of Tibet. The scenic flight across the Himalayan range offers breathtaking mountain views.
Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport, you will be welcomed by the Tibetan guide who will assist with your transfer to the hotel in Lhasa. The remainder of the day is kept light so travelers can relax and adjust to the altitude
Today is dedicated to discovering the cultural treasures of Lhasa. Visit the famous Potala Palace, once the winter residence of the Dalai Lama and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to the sacred Jokhang Temple, one of the most important religious sites in Tibet.
Afterward, explore the lively Barkhor Square, where pilgrims walk around the temple performing traditional kora. The sightseeing tour also includes Norbulingka Palace, known as the summer residence of the Dalai Lama.
After breakfast, begin the overland journey toward Saga, traveling through the spectacular landscapes of the Tibetan plateau. The drive passes through wide valleys, rivers, and remote villages, offering incredible views of the Himalayan region.
Saga is a small but important stop for travelers heading toward Mount Kailash.
Today’s journey takes you to the sacred Lake Mansarovar, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for devotees. Surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks, the lake is believed to have spiritual cleansing powers.
Pilgrims may perform prayers, meditation, or take a holy dip in the lake. Later, travel to Chu Gompa, located near the lake, while completing part of the traditional circumambulation.
After breakfast, proceed to Darchen, the starting point of the Kailash Parikrama. This small town serves as the base camp for pilgrims preparing to walk around Mount Kailash.
Upon arrival, travelers can relax, explore the area, and view the sacred mountain from nearby viewpoints.
This is the most demanding yet spiritually rewarding day of the pilgrimage. The trek leads across Dolma La Pass, the highest point of the journey.
Along the descent, pilgrims pass the sacred Gauri Kund, believed to be associated with Goddess Parvati. The trek then continues toward Zuthulpuk, where travelers rest after completing this challenging stage.
After breakfast, complete the final section of the Kailash Parikrama. The trek concludes near the road point where vehicles will be waiting.
From here, begin the return journey back to Saga, reflecting on the spiritual experience of completing the sacred circuit around Mount Kailash.
Following breakfast, continue the journey toward Kerung, a town located near the Nepal–China border. The drive offers another chance to admire the beautiful landscapes of Tibet.
Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and spend the evening relaxing at the hotel.
After breakfast, travel to the Kerung border checkpoint where immigration formalities will be completed for both Tibet and Nepal.
After crossing into Nepal, continue the journey to Kathmandu. In the evening, a farewell dinner will be arranged to celebrate the successful completion of the pilgrimage.
